Ignite a Lifelong Passion for Social Justice and Leadership

What is Camp LEAD?

Camp LEAD is more than just a summer camp--it's a transformative experience designed to awaken the changemaker in every student. Students should be curious about their world, excited to meet new people, and ready to grow as leaders.

Camp LEAD builds confidence, cultural awareness, and leadership skills—empowering youth to create change in their schools and communities. Through hands-on workshops, creative projects, and field trips, campers explore leadership, identity, and social justice in engaging and age-appropriate ways.

Program Overview:

Camp LEAD creates an immersive educational environment that fosters social and emotional learning, community building, and leadership skill development to help campers challenge inequity and injustice.

This summer we’re offering four different one-week-long day camp sessions (Monday- Friday), each with a unique theme designed to empower youth in Greater Saint Louis to become advocates for positive change in their communities.

Campers can participate in one or all of these sessions!

Session Descriptions:

Session 1 : Identifying You + Belonging: July 6th - 10th

Understanding your identity and your place within a community is essential for effective leadership. This week, campers will delve into the concepts of identity, culture, and community by examining the work of remarkable artists who have blazed trails for others to follow.

Session 2: Art as Resistance: July 13th- 17th

As a continuation of session 1 campers are learning how artist of the past and present have used their art to bring awareness and create communities. While looking a murals of today the student we work and create a collective mural to present at the end of the week. Students will be able to see how art can change minds, hearts and lives.

Session 3: Speak Truth to Power: July 20th - 24th

Personal story-telling is an important way that we can use our voices for social change. During this week, campers will view examples of young people telling their stories to speak truth to power, learn what makes for an effective story, and write, share, and practice telling  a story from their own life.

Session 4: Activism Through Art with Brock Seals: July 27th - July 31st

Campers harness the power of Artivism—using visual art to raise awareness, ignite dialogue, and drive social change in their communities. Throughout the week, they explore how artists use creativity to challenge injustice and inspire action. In a hands-on workshop with local artist and activist Brock Seals, campers create their own artwork that reflects their identities, values, and visions for a more just world.
